Our Thoughts: Plastic Recycling

A personal post from Sales Director, Tara Dooley.

Plastics Recycling ♻️

Since joining Useon Extrusion Europe and learning more and more about the machinery we manufacture and the industries served, I have been doing a lot of research on all things recycling…in particular, plastics.

To be truthful, it’s not something I ever gave much thought, besides throwing stuff in the correct bins at home. 🚮

I always naively thought recycling was government funded. What I didn’t know is the recycling sector is privatised. The UK’s recycling industry is absolutely huge and growing YOY, as we all naturally become more conscious of sustainability and our overall carbon footprint.

Recycling has always been important to reduce land fill and to help clean up the oceans, but I didn’t realise how many companies make recycling their lifes mission/work and how grateful we should all be for it. Literally just imagine how dirty this country would be without these businesses, turning ‘rubbish’ into reusable materials, everyday. 🗑️ 🔁

I’m not technically minded in the slightest, (I even failed my Science GCSE!) but I found myself down a rabbit hole of intrigue, wanting to learn more around open/closed loop recycling and how Useon machinery helps turn plastic waste, into re-useable pellet, flakes, granules and even film!

At Useon, we’ve supplied extrusion equipment to some of the biggest names in recycling/waste management and continue to work closely in this sector. Actually feels so good knowing the company I work for plays even a small part in ensuring reusable plastics are possible 🥰

And finally, If any of my connections are looking to find out more about Useon’s range of recycling machinery, please do get in touch 😃

Ps. Don’t worry, I have the best technical team in the business on hand to help…(And thankfully, a half decent sales patter makes up for the lack of science GCSE 😜 )
